Is Sweden’s New Microchip The Mark Of The Beast?

According to an Associated Press report, Epicenter, a digital hub in Stockholm that houses more than 300 start-ups and innovation labs for larger companies, has made the implanted microchip available to its workers and to member organizations.

Epicenter and a handful of other companies offer to implant its workers and start-up members with microchips the size of grains of rice that function as swipe cards: to open doors, operate printers or buy smoothies with a wave of the hand.

This procedure is not new: Such chips are used as virtual collar plates for pets, and companies use them to track deliveries. But it was never used to tag employees on a broad scale.

Patrick Mesterton, co-founder and chief executive of Epicenter, said in an interview with The Washington Post.  “It’s very early to try to depict where this is going,” “We’re just doing this because it’s interesting. We want to play around with technology.” And he added, “The biggest benefit I think is convenience…It basically replaces a lot of things you have, other communication devices, whether it be credit cards or keys.”

Will the microchip be the mark of the beast in the soon future?

The Bible tell us that everyone in the world will at the end of time have either the mark of God or the mark of the beast. And those that will have the mark of the beast “on the forehead or on the hand…will drink of the wine of God’s fury” (Revelation 14:9,10).

Some Christians associate the mark of the beast with a microchip or a tattoo. Others believe the mark will take the form of a national ID card without which no one can buy or sell. But according to the Bible, a chip or a tattoo is not the mark of the beast. In fact, the Lord forbade His children to wear tattoos and other marks on their bodies (Leviticus 19:28). While the microchip is not the mark of the beast, it may be used by the “beast” to control the people of the earth so that only those the follow the beast will be able to buy or sell.

The Bible teaches that the mark of the beast is simply a spiritual symbol which means that someone has made a choice to turn from God and His law and follow the beast (Deuteronomy 6:6-8). For more information:

Research: Church Attendance And Longevity

CNN reported that a new study conducted by Dr. Tyler J. VanderWeele, professor of epidemiology in the Harvard School of Public Health published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, suggests that regular attendance of church services may help increase the longevity of people.

This research is not new for over the last 20 years, studies have shown that religious service attendance is associated with better physical and mental health. Medical articles have indicated that church attendance is related with a 30 per cent reduction in depression, a five-fold reduction in the likelihood of suicide, and a 30 per cent reduction in mortality, over 16 years of follow-up.

But recently, the study by Dr. VanderWeele showed that compared with women who never attended religious services, women who attended more than once a week had a 33 per cent lower mortality risk during the study period. And those who attended weekly had a 26 per cent lower risk and those who attended less than once a week had a 13 per cent lower risk.

Researchers in the Nurses’ Health Study examined data on nearly 75,000 middle-age female nurses in the United States answering questions about their church attendance between 1992 and 2012 and about other aspects of their lives over the years.

Dr. VanderWeele said, that the study revealed that church attendance could promote a sense of meaning and purpose in life and self-discipline. And he added that “Our study suggests that for health, the benefits outweigh the potentially negative effects,” such as guilt, anxiety or intolerance.”

The research also suggests that because of a message of hope or faith at religious services, there are much more optimism among the attendees and the depression rates are lower; and these factors in turn positively enhance physical health and longevity. And he added that although the study did not look into the association in men, previous research suggested that male churchgoers likewise benefited.

All of this proposes that religious service attendance is an essential social cause for overall health. And it is a factor that should be taken into consideration in public health debates. In a time when people are identifying themselves as ‘spiritual but not religious’ and in which the term ‘organized religion’ inclines to carry negative undertones, this empirical research tests proposes that personal spirituality is essential for a person’s health and longevity.

Love beyond feelings!

True love is manifested in actions rather than words. Unlike the popular belief that it is measured by feelings, true love is measured by behavior. Feelings are subject to change but true love never changes because it is a principle. It transcends impulses that are triggered by emotions.

Love is what we do regardless of how we feel. Therefore, love encompasses a commitment. When couples enter into a marriage commitment, they vow to keep their love alive “in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer.”

When people truly love, they are unselfish. This means that they are willing to give their love regardless of the other person’s response. It also means loving the unlovable; going out of one’s comfort zone to sacrifice for someone that may not reciprocate.

This is exactly what God did. The ultimate love of God was manifested in the plan of salvation, it was initiated by Him, all we have to do is respond: “We love Him because He first loves us” (1 John 4:19).

God’s love was so great and His desire to save was so strong that He made every conceivable provision for our salvation – even giving up the only Son He had to save us. The Father’s joy was Jesus and He expressed His love saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). Yet, He did not withhold His only Son from us.

When Jesus was about to go through the process of torture that would lead to the cross, the anticipated great agony and the weight of sin crushed Him to the point that His sweat was drops of blood, a result of extreme mental anguish. Yet, His Father would not take the cup from His hands and instead strengthened His Son to drink the cup of suffering and death to make remission for our sins.

As Jesus was suffering agonizing pain on the cross, the Father’s heart was broken beyond description in grief over His Son. Yet, the Father allowed His Son to suffer to save us from sin. There are no adequate words to describe the love of God for fallen humanity, which is why the action of Him allowing Jesus to die, and Jesus offering Himself to die for our salvation, leaves no need for extra words (Romans 5:8). Actions speak louder than words.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Words fail us to express the depth of that eternal, changeless love. In awe, John simply said, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us” (1 John 3:1).

God performed the ultimate evidence of love: He died for us. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13) and nothing can pluck us out of this love against our will (John 10:28).

Smitten by this love, Paul exclaims, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 9:38,39).

This is love, God is love.

Remembering The Brave

While the American nation is remembering this Memorial Day weekend with grief all the faithful who died serving the country’s armed forces, another sad incident of death took place in Egypt today where 28 Coptics were murdered for simply being Christians.

The Associated Press reported security officials as saying witnesses saw between eight and 10 attackers, dressed in military uniforms and wearing masks. These attackers shot at the passengers and killed most of them. The passengers were worshipers traveling to visit St. Samuel Monastery located outside Cairo.

Some often wonder: Why wouldn’t God intervene and save those most honorable and faithful? Why does He allow for war and pain to haunt people? Why does He not stop all of the killings? If He is so powerful, why does He stand still?

The one word answer is: freedom.

God created angels and humans with the freedom to choose good or evil. Lucifer and his angels chose to rebel against God. If God had destroyed Lucifer immediately, some angels might have worshiped God through fear. But that was not God’s wish.

The only devotion God would accept is a voluntary worship moved by love. Obedience for any other reason is not accepted. Satan claimed that he had better plans for God’s creatures. So, He allowed the devil to live to demonstrate his principles.

Unfortunately, humans chose to believe the devil and thus allowed him to demonstrate his rule in our world. The result is the suffering and destruction we see around in our world today. We cannot blame the Lord for our suffering which is the direct result of our sin.

But the Lord, in His infinite mercy, took upon Himself the burden of saving us from sin and its penalty. Jesus the innocent died so we can be set free from the devil. All those that accept God’s plan and receive His gift of salvation through Jesus will be saved eternally.

So, the only One that truly suffered is God Himself. God’s love for sinners led Him to give all that He had for their salvation. God does not afflict His children with suffering and pain. Man has brought this condition of affairs upon himself by his disobedience.

The good news is that some time in the very near future, Christ will come again on time just as He came the first time on time and will finally end the sin problem once and for all and take His faithful children home.

Jim Caviezel: Abortion Is America’s ‘Great Sin’

Passion of the Christ’s actor Jim Caviezel is an outspoken advocate for the pre-born and their right to life. Caviezel’s personal life is a live testimony to what he preaches. Jim and his wife Kerri have adopted two children from China with special needs. Their first child, Bo, was adopted after a traumatic five years experience with brain damage and was abandoned, sent to an orphanage. But thankfully later was adopted by Jim and Kerri.

Jim Caviezel spoke out frequently in the past against abortion and he denounced it as a great sin in America. But he always added a message of forgiveness to those who have been involved with this experience.

Caviazel said, “Some of you have had abortions – some men here, and women are adulterers,” Caviezel said during a question and answer session at the church. “Some have committed murder. Some of you didn’t have the abortion but paid for it, so you have contributed to this. Many people are part of this great sin in this country … over 50 million in the United States alone, and 45 million die every year in the world. These are all God’s children and God brings them home.”

And he added, “when you’ve committed a sin, any of the 10 commandments or the sin of abortion or contributed to it, let me be very clear. Did you go to one of your friends and ask your friend, ‘Hear my story?’ And s/he said, ‘Yes.’ I went to this one person and asked, ‘Why do you go to this one person?’ S/he answered, ‘Because they didn’t judge me. They loved me and I felt mercy and grace.”

“Do you think that your God doesn’t have more mercy and grace than your friend? Do you think your friend has more grace than God,” Caviezel asked? “Does your friend have more love than the Creator? It can never be. It can never be. So – God forgives you and now He needs you to begin again, to accept forgiveness.”

“Earlier I said God never sends a man into Hell – people choose this place. It’s your choice,” he continued. “God made you and loves you. There’s never been another like you. He deemed that you would come here today. You’re perfect and without you, He would cry. Every time we sin, we deny Him. Be perfect. Love one another as I have loved you. I’d rather be an unknown here and have my name up there,” Caviezel closed his remarks with tears in his eyes.

Ever since his work in the “Passion,” Gaviezel, has been an outspoken advocate for the Christian faith and God’s mercy and love especially for those that are seeking forgiveness for their direct or indirect involvement in abortion.

Caffeine Overdose Kills A 16 Year Old

NBC news reported that Gary Watts a South Carolina coroner told a news conference on Monday that a 16-year-old boy died last month from a caffeine overdose after drinking caffeine-laden soft drinks, coffee and an energy drink.

Watts told NBC News, “On this particular day within the two hours prior to his death, we know that Davis Allen Cripe had consumed a large diet Mountain Dew, a cafe latte from McDonalds and also some type of energy drink,” “It was so much caffeine at the time of his death that it caused his arrhythmia.”

Watt said, “Based on his weight, the intake of caffeine that he had exceeded what is considered a safe level.” And he warned that “Davis, like so many other kids and so many other people out there today, were doing something that they thought was totally harmless, and that was ingesting lots of caffeine.”

Watts added, “These drinks can be very dangerous,” “I’m telling my friends and family don’t drink them.” “The autopsy was performed and there was nothing there to indicate any type of … undiagnosed heart condition.” “I realize this is a controversial scenario,” “There are obviously people that don’t think this can happen — that you can have this arrhythmia caused by caffeine.”

It is a fact that a 12-ounce Mountain Dew contains 54 mg of caffeine. McDonald’s does not report the amount of this drug in its coffee. Caffeine in doses up to 400 mg (about five cups of coffee) is generally recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration, however, the mixing of caffeine products could be lethal.

There are more than 500 energy drink products on the market. These have significant rise in energy drink-associated emergency department visits and deaths. While energy drinks usually contain caffeine, not much is known about their content safety levels and some of their other ingredients which may include taurine and l-carnitine.

Caffeine causes the release of natural compounds called catecholamines, including norepinephrine, which is a stress hormone that can accelerate the heart rate. Patients who have lost their lives from documented caffeine overdoses exhibited irregular and rapid heart rates, seizures and sometimes choked on their own vomit.

Sachin A. Shah of David Grant Medical Center on Travis Air Force Base and University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and colleagues studied physical changes in a group of 18 healthy men and women after consuming a commercially available energy drink and after drinking another concoction with the same amount of caffeine but none of the other ingredients. The energy drink contained 320 mg of caffeine – the amount in about four cups of coffee – and other ingredients that are often found drinks like Monster Energy, Red Bull and 5-Hour Energy.

The researchers measured the participants’ blood pressure and used an electrocardiogram (often called an ECG or EKG) to measure heart electrical activity for 24 hours after the subjects consumed the drinks.

The study team reported an ECG change known as QTc prolongation and sometimes associated with life-threatening irregularities in the heartbeat was seen after drinking the energy drink, but not after drinking the caffeine beverage. The result was that blood pressure increased by close to 5 points after drinking the energy drink, but by just under 1 point after drinking the caffeine beverage. Several drugs have been pulled from the market just for causing ECG changes of a similar magnitude, the authors note.

Statistics show that between 2010 and 2013, more than 5,000 cases of people who got sick from energy drinks were reported to U.S. poison control centers, and almost half of those cases were in children that had no idea of what they are drinking.

The American Academy of Pediatrics stated that energy drinks have “no place” in the diet of children and adolescents.  And a 2015 Mayo Clinic study concludes that even just one 16-ounce energy drink can increase blood pressure and stress hormones and could put a healthy young adult at risk for heart damage.

Pot Legalization In Colorado Causes More ER Visits

NBC News reported on May 4, 2017 that the number of teenagers going to emergency rooms have more than quadrupled after the state of Colorado legalized the use of Marijuana. The teen patients displayed mostly symptoms of mental health.

The researcher Dr. George Sam Wang and colleagues examined Colorado state university hospital’s emergency department and urgent care records between 2005 and 2015 for the study and presented to a meeting of the Pediatric Academic Societies in San Francisco their reports.

Before legalization of Pot, in 2005, the number of visits by patients in one hospital system was 146. But after the state of Colorado legalized medical marijuana use in 2010 and made the recreational use of marijuana legal in 2014, the number of teens visiting the ER rose to 639. These teens had either cannabis in their urine or told a doctor they’d been using cannabis.

Dr. Wang found 3,443 ER visits by 13- to 21-year-olds to six ERs and urgent care centers over that time. Two-thirds involved psychiatric symptoms. More than half also showed evidence of other drugs in their bodies as well, which included alcohol, amphetamines and cocaine.

In 2016, Wang found that the average rate of marijuana-related visits to the children’s hospital doubled after legalization. Also poison center calls about marijuana went from nine in 2009 to 47 in 2015.

Dr. Wang reported that, “The state-level effect of marijuana legalization on adolescent use has only begun to be evaluated.” Wang said that people believe marijuana is safe — but it is not. He added, “We know that marijuana use at a young age can affect adolescent brains.”

Sadly, Cannabis is legal for medical use in 28 states and Washington, D.C., and eight states plus D.C. have legalized the recreational use of marijuana and marijuana-derived products.

Marijuana, while being the least harmful of all of the illicit drugs, is still potentially dangerous. Smoking this drug could develop risks of lung cancer, emphysema, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). And ingesting it could damage the immune system, cognitive ability, and the reproductive system.

The Bible teaches that our bodies are not our own. We “have been bought with a price” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), not “with perishable things like silver or gold . . . but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ” (1 Peter 1:17-19). Therefore, we need to honor God by taking care of our bodies which are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Russia’s Ban on Jehovah’s Witnesses

Russia’s Supreme Court, on April 20, 2017, declared after six days of hearings, that Jehovah’s Witnesses are an extremist organization. And it banned the organization from operating on Russian ground. The court stated that the members of this group, which add up to more than 170,000 Russian worshipers, are in the same category as Islamic State militants.

This ruling was following an order last month by the Justice Ministry that the denomination should be “liquidated” — essentially eliminated or disbanded. Although the ruling focused on the activities of the organization’s administrative center, a complex of offices outside St. Petersburg, it also branded all of its 395 regional branches as extremist.

But the Jehovah’s Witness denomination declared that they will fight back and appeal the ruling. Viktor Zhenkov, a lawyer for the denomination,  said, “We consider this decision an act of political repression that is impermissible in contemporary Russia,” Mr. Zhenkov said in a telephone interview. “We will, of course, appeal.”

The JW’s initial appeal will be to the Supreme Court’s appellate division. But if this course doesn’t yield the desired outcome, the denomination will take the case to the European Court of Human Rights, in Strasbourg, France. It seems that this ruling will not be annulled because Russian courts don’t usually oppose government decisions.

The Orthodox Church, which constitute Russia’s dominant faith, has lobbied for years to have Jehovah’s Witnesses outlawed or dealt with as a heretical sect. And although Jehovah’s witnesses have been active for more than a century, they were not able to gain the approval of other denominations.

Jehovah’s Witnesses are not accepted as a Christian denomination around the world simply because they hold many beliefs that go against what the Bible teaches. But their greatest fallacies have to do with the Godhead, the nature of Christ and the person-hood of Holy Spirit. The JW’s don’t believe the Godhead consists of three persons who are equal. They believe instead that Jehovah is the supreme being and Jesus is his first created being who existed in a pre-human state as the Archangel Michael. And they teach that the Holy Spirit is merely an energy or force.

North Korea’s Nuclear Threat To The West

Under the dictatorial leadership of Kim Jong-un, North Korea has recently pushed to expand its missile Nuclear power while regularly threatening the United States, South Korea and the West at large. Kim Jong-un tested another missile this month. Arms experts noticed a new solid-fuel technology that makes the missiles easier to hide and launch quickly.

Experts say that North Korea has fewer than 10 nuclear weapons. Satellite imagery of North Korea’s nuclear complex in Yongbyon, combined with official North Korean propaganda photos and recent nuclear tests, shows that the country could rapidly expand its arsenal.

North Korea’s nuclear weapons program has improved in four areas: bomb strength, arsenal size, missile technology and ability to elude detection. By one estimate, the country now has enough plutonium and highly enriched uranium to build 20 to 25 nuclear weapons. Let’s examine North Korea’s progressive explosive nuclear history:

In 2006, the nuclear force of its first test was less than a kiloton, which is 1,000 tons of TNT.

In 2009, its second test had more than double that force.

In January 2016, its fourth test, exploded a hydrogen bomb which Seismic readings suggested a force of four to six kilotons.

In September 2016, its fifth test, Seismic readings registered a force of approximately 10 kilotons, according to South Korea’s Defense Ministry.

Scientists say that Pyongyang will likely develop the capability to reach the continental United States with a nuclear tipped missile in a decade or so.

And Kim Jong-un threatened the West in his New Year’s speech to Reuters saying, “I can tell you for sure that the inter-continental ballistic rockets of the DPRK [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] will be launched at any time and at any place as decided by our Supreme Leadership.”

Just before the second coming, Jesus predicted that, “men’s hearts [would be] failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth” (Luke 21:26).

But the Lord is holding back the winds of strife until He seals His children for eternity. The angel says, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads” (Revelation 7: 3). The sealing of God’s people prepares them to stand through the times of stress that will precede the second advent (Rev. 7:1).

Are you ready?

When God (Appears To) Betray(s)

This is a difficult topic for me to write on. However I feel I must write my thoughts on this. When we think of betrayal we may think of family members or friends betraying us. The very last person we would ever expect to betray us though, the one person we would never expect to betray us, is God. However in my case that at least appears to be exactly what happened. Though I can not dare to believe it is true.
My story began a little over three years ago. I fasted and prayed for a sign for clear guidance for something in my life, something with Biblical precedence in the story of Gideon’s fleece. I heard God tell me which day it would come on. When the time came I even heard God clearly tell me what to do to get it. Thinking it was my imagination at first, I brushed it off, but God’s voice though still and small is persistent. It came back stronger. I still thought it was my imagination. After a few times like this, I obeyed. When I finally did, I was blown away. It was not just a sign, but an eye-popping incredible sign.
A few weeks later, I was singing in church when I heard God tell me that there was going to be a prophecy concerning my situation and even specifically what would be in it, immediately after the song. Thinking this was my imagination again, I thought this would have to be impossible. But sure enough, the prophecy came exactly as and when I was told it would.
The person giving it had no idea of my situation or that it was even for me. It was told to give a sacrifice of praise, and that very soon God was going to open a door in my life that would make sense of things. This came a few weeks later in the form of being invited to speak at a conference in Nebraska and meet Dr. Moreland, who promptly invited me to study with him at Biola.
Then there were more signs, doors, and prophecies that year, each as extraordinary as the last. Finally at the end of the year something happened on the exact day God told me it would earlier that year, before I ever knew I was going out to California! Everything seemed to have fallen into place.
However some time later, I got a very unpleasant surprise. Certain events transpired that revealed something that shook me greatly. Firstly, I learned that I was not the first person to have had this happen to me. Secondly, I learned that the event that had sparked off my whole adventure had occurred precisely because God had told someone else involved in the situation to do something because my situation had happened before to others.
I was then told by this person that all of this was false and that I should not believe it. I ended up heartbroken and devastated. I can’t blame this individual, as they could not have known. Besides I would refuse to ever hold anything against this person anyway.
However, when it came to God I couldn’t believe it. I know what I heard and how I was led. I considered that perhaps I had misinterpreted, but upon reflection that didn’t make sense either. I had been very specific concerning my Gideon’s Fleece, the prophecies I got were specific as well, and the leading I had gotten both from hearing God and the doors opening were very specific.
I simply couldn’t believe it. Given the situation as it stood, it appeared as though I had been betrayed by God. I felt I had not just been betrayed, but in fact God knew what would happen and that it had seemingly happened to others previously before He ever set the course of events into motion! I felt I had not only been betrayed, but that God had deliberately set me up and stabbed me in the back. It appeared as though events had been calculated to have my heart badly broken, and to take out a $30,000 loan in the process!
At first I was furious with God. Though fortunately God understands when and why we get angry with Him. Worse I felt I could not trust God, either that or perhaps I never heard from God at all. Only given everything that had happened that did not make sense. Thus I was stuck in pain and confusion.
Nevertheless something about this did not set right, and despite appearances I had a hard time believing God had really set me up. Deliberately setting up a cruel joke is not in God’s character. God said He would never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), and I know what I had heard and how I had been led. Thus there must be something, some missing piece, I had not accounted for.
As it turns out, a missing piece may very well be the issue. As Genesis points out, God creates everything good. Thus evil must come as some absence or distortion within good. As CS Lewis points out “evil is a parasite.” If this is the case then perhaps the reason God appeared to have betrayed is not that God actually betrayed me, but that perhaps God had not put all of the necessary pieces together yet.
Later that year, I went home around December. On New Years we had a prayer meeting at church. I was praying about this confusing situation when the older lady who had given me the original prophecy approached me. She still had no idea the prophecy she had given the previous year was about me, nor was she aware of my situation. She had a word for me though.
She said I was terrified about something, but that I should not worry and that I had not ruined anything because of anything I did or didn’t do, something I was specifically afraid I had done. However she then said something interesting. She said that the problem was that whatever it is I was waiting for from God was in the works, but that it wouldn’t work just yet because “the necessary pieces to make it work hadn’t been put into place yet!”
This was a year ago, and it can be hard to keep faith in the meantime. Nevertheless I received some surprising information this December that I found encouraging. Though the other month something happened that shook me up again. Even more frustratingly I also felt warned by God not to reach out in certain ways regarding this situation, that is until recently when I was told to reach out at a certain time and in a certain way, which I did a several days ago.
Now the free-will of others is also involved. Though God of course knows the future as well. I could provide speculations, but in the end I will not pretend to know how divine foreknowledge and free-will are reconciled. Perhaps only God knows these things. Nevertheless, however things turn out, I can believe that things will make sense, and right now nothing makes sense. God still knows what He’s doing, and so all I can go on in such a situation is faith.
It can be hard to see God as our fortress or a refuge in times of trouble, when He appears to deliberately betray you. When such things happen, verses like Psalm 34:8 which tell us to taste and see that the Lord is good can sometimes feel like a cruel joke rather than words of comfort.
However when such things happen, it is important to remember that we do not walk by sight (or by taste for that matter), but by faith. As Romans 10:17 points out, “faith comes through hearing the word of Christ,” not by looking at the situation however bad it may appear on the surface. So when it appears that God has betrayed you, have faith and remember that it may be that He just has not put all of the necessary pieces together yet.
